I just found that my program has just started preventing sending TCP packets, thus not being able to control my remote machine with SSH, and now I have to take a shower and go to the university to stop that program 😅
Oh, I noticed the program has successfully been killed by SIGINT sent from my keyboard, and now I can continue developing from my rental apartment. Great :)Implementing PacketAction::Analyzed requires me to refactor the eBPF program by changing how fetch_tc_action_for_packet works, since the function itself is not meant to be called for side effects that involves things like sending the captured packet to userspace.I just found that tokio::sync::broadcast::Receiver might be useful when there’s some need to obtain either signal from the user and some other stuff sent from an async context, while asynchronously wait for the value from either sources?
Maybe tokio::sync::watch would be better as there’s no need for multiple Senders present, just one is enough for my usecases. It might help me not having Arc<AtomicBool> in my code. That variable is too low-level for creating applications, and should only be used inside useful utilities normally provided by crates.Even we could decrypt TLS 1.2 Application Data and obtain cleartexts, there might be some tricks hidden in the structure of payloads, that no one except the attackers knows the mechanism. Implementing the decryption feature doesn’t really solve the remaining problems of application-level firewall. This phenomenon itself can never be addressed with any application-level firewall, and this is the critical problem right there.
